GED Instruction
If you are 16 years or older, enroll in GED classes. Take the
free GED practice test to see if you need to brush up on skills
before
you take the GED test. If you need coaching in areas such as math
or essay writing, that's where you start. (16, 17, and 18 year
olds need to contact the center before attending classes. There
are special state forms that they need to complete prior to
attendance.)
GED Test
The GED test changed in January 2002. The new GED Tests released
in January 2002 will evaluate proficiencies that were
not assessed on the former battery of tests. Because of these changes,
scores earned on the former tests cannot be
combined with scores from the new tests. It is important to make
these changes so that the GED Tests stay close to the
type of work students are being asked to perform in high schools
and so that Georgia will continue to award a high school
equivalency diploma based on passing the tests.
The new GED test will be given at FLAG starting in May of 2002.
The test will be given 2 evenings from 5:00 to 9:00. Testers
must be present both evenings to complete the entire test. Please
call to schedule a practice test.
Home GED
Americorps volunteers are available to tutor adults in their homes
if they are not able to come to FLAG because of lack of
transportation or because of lack of daytime childcare. Please call
FLAG to schedule a home visit by one of our Americorps
teams.

intermediate
